Frank Sanchez made a powerful statement at the Pyramids of Giza tonight, stopping Richard Torrez Jr in the second round on the undercard of the Oleksandr Usyk vs Rico Verhoeven event. The IBF final eliminator had already been postponed once earlier this year after Sanchez suffered a knee injury.

Torrez Jr arrived with serious credentials — an Olympic silver medal from Tokyo and 12 stoppages in 14 professional victories — but it simply was not enough on the night.
